XP GAME DEVELOPER SUMMIT RETURNS TO TORONTO APRIL 20 – 21, 2023
Now in its fourth year, the Canadian video game conference has leveled up with the addition of Canada’s largest Game Showcase and an Esports Business Lounge
January 12th, 2023, Toronto, ON — XP Gaming Inc. is pleased to announce that the XP Game Developer Summit will return to Toronto for its fourth year at the Westin Harbour Castle on April 20 & 21st, 2023.
The XP Game Developer Summit is the premiere business-to-business conference for the gaming and esports industries in Canada. Designed for the industry, it’s a vital part of the Canadian video game sector providing global networking opportunities, world-class speakers, exclusive panels, tailored workshops and more. The summit continues to grow in size and scope, as this year it adds an Esports Business Lounge and Canada’s largest Game Showcase.
Canada is the 3rd largest game developer in the world with almost 1,000 studios generating $4.3 billion in revenue and contributing $5.5 billion to GDP in 2021 (Source: Nordicity). The XP Game Developer Summit was designed to support that growth by providing an essential opportunity for industry stakeholders to connect and collaborate.
The XP Game Developer Summit has again partnered with the preeminent event platform provider MeetToMatch, to facilitate targeted networking and business-to-business experiences for international investors, publishers, developers, and service providers to discover new business opportunities.

New to the event this year is the Esports Business Lounge, an area dedicated to businesses looking to connect and grow in the fast-growing esports industry. With approximately $1.5 billion CAD in global revenue in 2021 and a year-on-year growth rate of 26.7% (Source: Newzoo), esports has become a significant part of the gaming industry.
Of course, where would this industry be without games? Introducing Canada’s largest Game Showcase! Featuring a massive mix of games on multiple platforms, this area will be open to the public via single-day Game Showcase passes. In addition to offering people the rare opportunity to play innovative titles that haven’t even hit the market yet, this showcase also offers studios the chance to show off their games to consumers, potential investors, publishers, as well as each other.
Speakers, panelists, and workshops are still being added and will be announced in the coming weeks.
Early-bird tickets are available now on Eventbrite. With seven pass options available, ticket pricing is focused on affordability with early-bird prices ranging from $50 for a single-day Game Showcase Pass up to $600 for an all-access VIP Business Pass.
- VIP Business Pass ($600). This pass grants access to the entire XP Game Developer Summit and includes lunch as well as exclusive access to the VIP lounge and VIP events.
- Business Pass ($250). Grants access to the Game Showcase, panels & workshops, both the business networking lounge and the Esports Business Lounge.
- Conference Pass ($150). Grants access to the Game Showcase, all panels & workshops, and the Esports Business Lounge.
- Student Pass ($90). This special pass is for post-secondary students and grants access to the Game Showcase, all panels & workshops, and the Esports Business Lounge. Post-secondary student ID required.
- Virtual Pass ($60). Not everyone can make the in-person event. This virtual pass gives people the opportunity to access virtual panels and business connections via the MeetToMatch platform.
- Game Showcase Pass ($50). For everyone who would like access to a huge mix of innovative titles at Canada’s largest Game Showcase for a day. No quarters needed!
